Detention Pond

Objectives-  Establish short and long term plans to:

1. Evaluate pond status and capacity relative to engineering specifications
2. Dredge if necessary
3. Repair drain stack
4. Remove trees from dam area.
5. Aerate if necessary to improve water quality.

Concerns-

1. The tennis courts and pond were symbols reflecting the character and beauty of Bristol Corners.  Both have fallen into significant disrepair. 
2. Pond drain stack leaks resulting in low water level, resulting in aggressive invasive plant growth.
3. The pond appears to be ecologically dead due to lack of oxygen.

Approach

1. Coordinate maintenance with City of Novi, EGLE and subject matter experts.
2. Coordinate efforts with wetland/woodland invasive species control/elimination efforts.
3. Develop short term actions to evaluate rainwater capacity & fix drain stack.
4. Develop long term vision.
5. Solicit member input on enhancements, walking path etc.
